St Remigius
Driving down the A1 it would be easy to miss Water Newton all together, the Great North Road which once ran through this village now passes it by, but tucked away by the river is the church of St. Remigius. Services are only held here now at 9.15am on a fifth Sunday, when there is one. Our service is Holy Communion from the Common Worship order but always has a special feel as we gather near to the ancient Roman town of Durobrivae where the oldest Christian Communion set in Britain was located. Here, in this place Jesus has been proclaimed as Lord for nearly two Millenia and you are warmly invited to join us and be part of that rich tradition.
