What is ChristianityGo back to "What is Christianity" The Bible is God's living Word
Getting into the Bible means being able to connect with God. His Holy Spirit helps us to be able to open up and engage with his living and timeless word written especial to and for us. The Bible describes itself like this, "Every part of Scripture is God-breathed and useful one way or another—showing us truth, exposing our rebellion, correcting our mistakes, training us to live God's way." (2 Timothy 3:16), so dust down that old copy of the Bible - or better still buy a new accurate translation (just ask your local bookshop for the New International Version of the Bible) and start reading. If you are not sure where to begin then you can visit the link below to start reading the Bible in a year - it will even email you the passages daily. We recomend that you select NIV-UK as your Bible translation. Alternatively download M‘Cheyne’s Bible reading calander from the PDF attached to this page. Or, if you would like some guidence in how to read the Bible, just click on the logo below to visit Scripture Union's Word Live page.
If you don't have a Bible to hand then visit Bible Gateway using the link below, again we recomend that you select NIV-UK as your translation.
